Vlad Dumitru Mărgărint is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He earned his DPhil in Mathematics from the University of Oxford, following a master’s degree at ETH Zürich and a bachelor’s degree at the University of Bucharest. His research lies at the interface of probability, mathematical physics, and number theory, with contributions to Schramm–Loewner evolutions, random matrix theory, statistical mechanics, and probabilistic models of zeta and L-functions. He has held positions at CU Boulder and NYU Shanghai, and has been invited to speak at leading international conferences and research institutes worldwide, including IHES, the Alan Turing Institute, and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
